Was 2009 like the year for celebrities to die or something?

It sure seems like it. Hollywood said farewell to a lot of stars. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, David Carradine, Natasha Richardson, Brittany Murphy, Patrick Swayze, Billy Mays, Walter Cronkite. It's just so tragic. What happened???
